Drake First Artist To Go Platinum in 2015…

Summer 2015 is officially the Summer of Drake! After demolishing Meek with his back to back diss records, Drake's mixtape 'If You're Reading This It's Too Late' has sold over 1 million copies to date making him the first artist to reach platinum this year.

The only other album to go platinum this year is Taylor Swift's 1989 but that came out in 2014.

Drake surprised his fans when he dropped IYRTITL unannounced back in February on iTunes and did not release physical copies until two months later. Drake previously went platinum with 2013’s Nothing Was The Same, 2011’s Take Care, and 2010’s Thank Me Later.
