The 2015 Emmy nominations were revealed live from Los Angeles on Thursday morning. Taraji P. Henson & Viola Davis both received nominations for the Best Leading Actress award in the drama category for "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Empire," making it the first time that two African-Americans were nominated in that category in the same year.
One of them could make even more history during the ceremony should one of them win the award because no other African American female has never won that particular award at the Emmys.
Before Davis and Henson, "Scandal" star Kerry Washington was the most recent African-American woman earning her first nomination in the category in 2013 and 2014,
The Emmys air on September 20 on Fox.
