Rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, was picked up by sheriffs in Fayette County, Georgia, on suspicion of marijuana possession Wednesday afternoon, according to the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies stopped Ross' Bentley because of a possible a window tint violation and were talking to him when an officer allegedly smelled marijuana coming from the car.
Sheriff Barry H. Babb said Ross gave consent to search the vehicle, and a deputy found marijuana. He was released Wednesday night after posting a $2,400 bond, county officials said.
The founder of Maybach Music Group, was raised near Miami but purchased last year the Fayetteville mega-mansion that once belonged to boxing legend Evander Holyfield.
Wednesday’s run-in with Fayette deputies is at least Ross’s fourth marijuana-related arrest. He was arrested on pot charges in Miami in 2008, in Louisiana in 2011 and in North Carolina in 2013.
