South African Rapper Flabba Stabbed To Death

South African rapper Flabba has been stabbed to death with his girlfriend arrested as the main suspect. Nkululeko Habedi, whose stage name is Flabba, died in the early hours of this morning in his home. He was 38.

"His girlfriend is in custody and she is expected to appear in court soon."

Mr Habedi became popular after he joined award-winning rap group Skwatta Kamp. The group had hits such as uMoya and Clap Song.

Tshepang, Nkululeko Habedi ‘s younger brother, says his family does not know why his brother and girlfriend were arguing in the fight that led to his death."He was stabbed once in the heart around 02:00. He was in his room," he said on the family's behalf.

The late rapper won several awards for his work with the group and his solo projects, including Best Rap Album at the 2007 SAMA awards for his album Nkuli vs Flabba. According to Flabba's Facebook, he was working on new music and had last released a free download in December.
